Zombie Comic Concept

May 28, 2009

This is a bit of concept for a short zombie comic I’ve been workin’ on lately.  The basic idea is that a couple of movie theater employees have to hide out in the theater and protect themselves from zombies using whatever makeshift weapons they have, including pizza cutters (as seen below), oil swords, and flaming lava hot butter.  I got the idea working at a movie theater myself a few years back; I used to play with the same “weapons” myself.

Star Trek sketches

May 24, 2009

so I know I’m probably a jackweed to some real Trekkies out there for doing Picard instead of Kirk, but you know what:  I just think Patrick Stewart looks pretty dang sweet.  And how can you go wrong with Lavar Burton?  Seriously.  “Star Trek” was the theme for drawer geeks this past few weeks, so these are  a few sketches I did.  Nothing amazing, cause I really couldn’t care less about Star Trek, but I was bored and needed something to do.  My favorite is Spock.  Of course.

Newspaper Piggy

May 5, 2009

This is the last illustration for the newspaper for the semester.  Sad day…but it’s pretty freaking awesome!

For several weeks, I have been working on a series of nine 5″x5″ illustrations, which, in sequence, tells my autobiography.  I had initially planned to do this in the form of a comic, but after further consideration during the planning process, decided against that, in favor of a different approach:  each illustration is the avatar of a significant event or period of time in my life.  Each picture is preceded by its title, and followed by a brief explanation, and a statement of what medium was used.  Enjoy.

Chapter 1:  Birth

Needless to say, the first significant even in my life was my birth, which took place in the summer of 1988.
